Cinco de Mayo. Spanish for 'Margarita Day'

Cinco de Mayo. Spanish for 'Margarita Day'
It's Cinco de Mayo, which means it's the only day of the year for an MB to consume a margarita. Since margarita mix is to margaritas what Taco Bell is to tacos, avoid like the Mexican flu. Here's how it's done:

MB Endorsed Margarita
2 parts Tequila (must be 100% agave, blanco is fine)
1 part Cointreau
1 part fresh lime juice

Shake all the ingredients and pour into a martini glass, rimmed very lightly with salt.

Old Fashioned

  • 1 raw sugar cube
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters
  • 3 oz bourbon

On bottom of Old Fashioned glass (what else?) dribble bitters on sugar cube. Muddle. Fill with ice, then with bourbon. Garnish with lemon twist. No, not a thick orange wedge, handful of cherries, or a cup of fruit salad. A simple lemon wedge.
